Day 2 - To the Movies

My second day in Ghana, first full day. The first part of the day was mostly resting, and Maria, Joy and I sat down and planned some outings with the kids. In the afternoon, Maria and I took five of the kids to a movie at "The Mall." We took a taxi, and it was about 15-20 minutes to get there. On the way back, though, it was rush hour, and we were stuck for about 30 minutes trying to get through the "atomic junction." The good thing is the sun was down by then. But the pollution and exhaust in the traffic jam were unbelievable. (Taxis are not A/C here.)

The weather is warm and humid, but not what I'd call really "hot." If I were outdoors working, however, I suspect I'd think it was pretty hot. I tend to stay near fans when I'm in the house. And I sleep with a fan blowing on me, and it was cool enough in the early morning that I even had to pull the sheet on.

Drew decided not to be afraid of me as long as he was holding the puppy.

Reading stories this morning. That's Fletcher pointing, and Drew standing by.
